Home > Positive Displacement Technology > Diaphragm Pumps
Diaphragm pumps are commonly used in industrial applications where fluids may contain solids, be abrasive, shear‑sensitive, or chemically aggressive. In many process environments, diaphragm pumps are preferred because they are self‑priming, can run dry without damage, and handle a wide range of viscosities.
Most industrial diaphragm pumps are Air‑Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps, which use compressed air instead of an electric motor to move fluid.

Diaphragm pumps, a type of positive displacement pump, are the workhorses of industrial fluid transfer because they handle conditions that destroy other pump types. Common applications include:
Chemical transfer of acids, caustics, and solvents, with PTFE or polypropylene diaphragms matched to fluid compatibility.
Wastewater and sludge handling, including produced water in oil & gas and effluent in municipal systems.
Abrasive slurry transfer, where centrifugal pumps would erode quickly.
Hygienic and sanitary processes in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical production.
Drum and tote unloading where suction lift and dry-run capability matter.
Hazardous-environment fluid transfer where electric pumps create ignition risk.
PSG® Store carries diaphragm pumps from two PSG®-family brands. Wilden® invented the AODD pump in 1955 and remains the industry reference for high-performance air-operated pumps in demanding applications. All-Flo™ offers reliable AODD pumps with fast availability for general industrial use. Both brands ship from PSG® Store with a manufacturer's warranty and access to genuine diaphragm pump parts.
Use the filters above to narrow by brand, material, and port size, or use the pump finder to go step-by-step and find the right pump for you. In-stock pumps ship the same day; non-stocked configurations ship directly from the manufacturer, with PSG® Store handling the order, support, and warranty.
